Tmote Sky Module In Sensor Network

In Wireless Sensor Network, some nodes are too far from the sink base. The data has to travel through the nodes kept in different place to reach the final destination. Hence wireless networks are used for the sensor network. Ultra low power wireless Tmote sky module is used in monitoring applications, sensor networks and rapid application prototyping. Tmote sky uses industry standards, integrating temperature, humidity, and light sensors and interconnection with peripherals to enable a wide range of mesh network application.

Tmote sky module can be operated with the help of two AA batteries. If the module is plugged to USB port for computing or programming then it would receive from the computer. When plugged to USB the voltage required to operate the Tmote is 3V. Battery pack is not necessary when the module is attached to USB port.At any cost voltage for operating the module should not exceed 3.6V as it would cause damage to radio, microcontroller, and other components.

Telsob mote platform act as a experiment cutting edge for the research community. The platform is integrated with antenna, has extended memory, and also a optional sensor suite. This platform consume low power as it is mostly in sleep mode and the wake up time is very fast and back to the sleep mode once the process is done. It is possible to operate with two AA batteries or when connected to the PC or laptop it uses the power from PC. If it is connected to the USB port of PC battery pack is not necessary.
