Sensor networks play important role these days in many application of medicine, commercial, industry etc. Low power consumption sensors are of great demand these as it can used for months to years without changing the battery. Tmote Sky is one of the modules used in wireless sensing system like Moteiv’s Tmote wireless sensing system. Tmote sky module in sensor systems helps to work more efficiently and collects data very fast as it is of high data rate.
Moteiv’s Tmote sensing system includes a Tmote sky module, integrated temperature, sounds, light, sensors etc. Sensor network consists of two basic nodes which include one or more sensor nodes and a one display node which is connected to the PC in order to collect and format data from other nodes.
Sensor nodes are placed in different places to record temperature information from base node via radio in an ad-hoc network.
Tmote sky is operated at extremely low power and high rate of data sensor network application. It is integrated with antenna, sensors, programming capabilities, radio and microcontroller.
Ultra low power TI MSP430 F1611 microcontroller helps to operate the module in low power. It is designed in such a way that it is always in sleep mode which helps to consume minimum power. It wake up very fast to process and again return to the sleep mode immediately.
