INTRODUCTION
Wireless sensors are widely use piece of equipment in which a standard measuring tool is provided with transmitter. This transmitter converts the signal from measuring tool to radio transmission. This radio transmission is then received by a receiver which converts it back to a desired output for further action as desired. Hence Wireless sensors become easy to install thereby taking their application to various indoor and outdoor applications both in industrial, domestic and other sectors.
ADVANTAGES
The increasing popularity of these sensors is for reasons as possibility of remote supervision of hazardous environment. They save the operator to be physically present in extreme working conditions. By installing various sensors at many places one supervisor can monitor many function or operation simultaneously. This definitely improves monitoring, as well as reduces the operating cost substantially.
METHOD OF SELECTION
The points of consideration for identifying correct sensor are the intended use, the parameter to be measured, the desired accuracy and response time and also the range up to which signal is required along with the frequency of transmission of signals i.e. continuous streaming of data of periodic. All these factors reflect on the final cost hence careful analysis is must before buying.
